Saying goodbye to Jules 🙁

Team time in NC

THIS IS THE BLOG I MEANT TO POST 2 WEEKS AGO, SORRY! <3

We leave for cambodia on friday!

let me tell you all about it. On friday (10/14) night, my squad and I will be heading to the airport at 10pm to have a sleepover at the airport before our 5am flight (woot). From the Atlanta airport we will first stop in Phoenix, then to San francisco where we’ll have an eight hour layover with time to sped exploring good ole san fran, after san fransisco we will hop on a 13 hour flight to Tiwan, once in tiwan, our group will split up and a majority of us will go to Phnom penh cambodia and the other part of the group will fly to vietnam and have a two day layover before joining us in Phnom penh.

Wow, what a doozy. that’s a lot of information.

While all of that is exciting, I should tell you about my time in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The women of my squad arrived in NC on the 25th of september and left on the 8th of October. during our time we were hosted by Excel college. We were able to help around the community of Black Mountain with painting rooms in churches, landscaping around new housing for Excel students, helping to create clean spaces at different Black mountain home for children (BMH) facilities, and we were lucky enough to serve with Excel at a fall festival hosted by BMH on our last day.

God was teaching me that even though i have the title of missionary kid and pastors kid, that doesn’t me that i’ve met everyone. ok obviously I haven’t met EVERYONE, but i’ve met, worked, and taught a LOT of people. the thing that God has been showing me is that even in all of that, there are still 44 more personalities (my squad) out there that i need to learn to live with and grow with, no matter how irritated or frustrated i may be at some times.

For instance, my whole life, in any sort of ministry setting, i’ve done whatever i’ve been asked to do with (hopefully) little to no complaining because according to my mom we need to be ‘happy helpers.’ My point is, not everyone grew up the was I did and so not everyone will always have the same attitude as i do (duh), while that can be frustrating when i hear complaints about the mundane work we’re doing, God is reminding me to give grace and also to remember that the work we are doing is not for us to say “look what we did,” but to serve those we came to serve.

That’s all i have to share! if you have any questions about what i’m doing and where i’m going comment below!

Thank you so much for continually praying for me!
